Safety Ropes & Grabs

Safety ropes can be used in many different ways, from restraint to providing a running line so that entrants into confined spaces do not get lost.

The English Braids Static 10.5mm diameter safety rope has a stitched eye at one end with no termination at the other. This allows the ropes to be used for any application and can be used with rope grabs for working on inclines where the operative needs to be able to move their working position.

Safety ropes are available in any length although we carry stock of 10, 20 and 30m safety ropes. Rubber or plastic weights can be placed at one end to aid lowering or throwing of the rope and these are purchased as an extra.

Kratos 12mm kernmantle safety lines are available in a wide variety of lengths from 10m to 50m to suit your needs.

They have a stitched eye at one end with no termination at the other end. You should always place a knot at the end of the length you wish to work with so that any device can not travel off of the end of the rope.

An assortment of rope grabs can be used with these ropes. You can also add rubber weights for lowering or throwing which simply have the rope passed through their centre and have knot tied beneath it to act as a stop.

This Rope Grab is designed to protect the wearer from slips or falls when using 12mm kernmantle rope as a restraint or work positioning line.

It is rated as safe to use for workers up to a gross weight of 140kg and is easily attached to any 12mm kernmantle rope.

The Rope Grab is designed so that it will slide upwards freely but locks on instantly if a fall takes place. To move in the direction of the fall the worker must manually depress the action for it to allow the rope to pay through. If the worker slips whilst doing this their hand will come off of the Rope Grab and it will immediately lock onto the rope at that position.

Designed for climbing and as rope grabs these ascenders are available in left hand or right hand versions.

They can be used on Kernmantle ropes of 10mm to 12mm thick and can be inserted at any stage by simply opening the gate. They will slide up the rope by simply pushing them but then lock and will not come back down the rope until they are deliberately adjusted making them ideal for working in restraint and suspension. These grabs are simple to use and can be unlocked for adjustment using just one hand. They are constructed of aluminium alloy, have an anodised finish and conform to EN567.

The pedal foot loop can be fixed onto the ascender handle to allow ascent on a rope when double rope working. The length can be easily adjusted via a non-opening buckle and they have a sliding protective sleeve for the foot.
