All of the 0.5 bar stoppers that are capable of a water test
that we distribute require bracing when fitted. The reason
for this is whilst the stopper will make a seal to hold 0.5
bar the friction between the stopper and the pipe can not
be relied upon to hold it into place. The eyelets on the ends
of the stoppers are only for location and are not to be used
as the form of bracing. The brace is simply made and should
be as in figures 1 and 2; 1 for By-Pass fluming or test ends
and 2 being for blank stoppers.

Prior to installing, ensure that pipes are checked for any
sharp protrusions, stones and debris that may puncture the
stopper upon inflation. All 0.5 bar stoppers must have a 10
metre inflation hose supplied with them so as to ensure operative
safety when installing, inflation should be done remotely.
Air pressure should be checked in accordance with the operating
instructions.
The 0.5 bar stoppers can be used for fluming, blanking, water
tests to 0.5 bar and leak location, a sample of how this can
be done is shown in figure 3.

The CagTek ByPass Stoppers offer a
very versatile way to conduct work within pipelines. ByPass Stoppers can allow flow through them whilst
making a 0.5 bar seal to the inside of the pipes,
with the use of Bauer fittings the flow can be maintained
while work is carried out in the dry.

| If the pipe fall is
great enough one ByPass Stopper can be used
in conjunction with lay flat hose to ensure that
the flow continues away without filling the chamber
to be worked in. On shallower falls a ByPass Stopper
in either side of the chamber can be joined together
using Bauer fittings and either armour core or lay
flat hose.
The ByPass Stoppers can also be used for over
pumping, as shown in the working drawing, water
tests and standard air tests if you require a
test end that can cater for a large variety of
diameters. A 500-1200mm with a test end for instance
will cover all sizes from 495mm to 1200mm and
only requires you having the one test end stopper,
combined with a Blank Stopper you may only need
two stoppers to cover a vast array of pipes. |

All CagTek Blank End 0.5 Bar Stoppers |

|
Blank End Stoppers provide the ability
to hold back water pressure to 0.5 bar with the
correct bracing. Because they are air filled remotely
they can be used in conjunction with a test end
for leak location, this can save time and limit
an excavation to only the area of the failure.
Each stopper size is shown, along with the range
it caters for, for example; a 70-150mm will fit
and pipe from 70mm to a maximum size of 150mm
and will seal 0.5 bar for this range. Because
the stoppers are air inflated they can also be
deflated for ease of insertion through manholes
and other areas that a conventional wind up stopper
will not fit. The access entry only needs to be
the size of the smallest size in the stoppers
range, so the 70-150mm would need a minimum entry
size of 70mm.

All CagTek Multisize Stoppers |

The Multisize Stopper is quite simply
the easiest way to achieve a standard 100 over 0
air test. The stoppers are available as either blank
or test ends and require one of each for a standard
air test, all hire prices are shown as a test pair.
The Multisize can be inflated from either a hand
pump or from various types of compressor. The Multisize
Stoppers are inflated to 1.5 bar and have a large
sealing area so as to ensure an air tight fit on
slightly imperfect pipes surfaces. All Multisize
Stoppers have a 100mm operating range so may be
able to test several pipe sizes being used.
The very fact that the stoppers are inflatable
means that they can deflated, then folded in half
on the larger sizes. This then enables them to
be taken through small manhole entries where the
chamber may hold very large diameter pipes. The
stoppers are also much lighter than conventional
wind up stoppers making them easier to install
and move from area to area.

The Universal Cover Lifter uses
all of the best ideas from the EZI-Lift Manhole
Lifter, it use the same bar to release the cover
but has a wheeled frame making moving the cover
much easier when on hard surfaces.
The Universal Cover Lifter uses Didsbury’s
bar in conjunction with the lockable manhole keys
and a large diameter bolt which is wound down
to exert up to 4 tons of safe thrust to break
the seal. This will free covers that have tarmac
or concrete over the seal, there are also a range
of different sized keys available so we can lift
any cover you have. The BT version uses a ratchet
and strop to lift the cover so that any sized
operative can move the cover with ease.

All Horobin Wind Up Stoppers |

Traditional Wind Up Stoppers have
been in use for many years and will tolerate slight
variations in sizes. Whilst they do require to
be specified to the size of the pipe you are testing
they are very affordable compared with inflatable
air stoppers.
Wind Up Stoppers can also be used to blank off
pipes although they should be braced and they
do not offer a pre determined pressure that they
will hold.
